Yesterday was our rummage sale! Although, it seems it was the first one… LOL! We had not muddled through everything, so we will be hosting another one in a few weeks when we get the rest of this place weeded out.
We didn’t make quite as much as I was hoping for with our rummage sale, but we did make enough to justify Rock staying home for the day.
We shoveled the remainders back into the garage, but it was a much smaller pile than we shoveled out into the yard that morning. And none of it came back into the house! It will not be coming back in – I am tired of tripping over piles and mounds of junque.
I spent today sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning all the floor that I haven’t been able to see in a while. It felt good to have some semblance of order again. The house looks so much better with all that *stuff* gone.
The emptier house energized me in a way I had not expected, and I dove into the pantry this afternoon to purge of a few things in there.
I began assembling a couple Prairie Schooner drawers for bathing (soap, pouf, shampoo, etc.) and for oral hygiene (spare toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, flossers and floss) and got to remove two boxes from the pantry shelving. Another small success!
Things seem to be getting easier with this weeding out, minimizing, and assembling the van’s supplies. I am either gettin’ the hang of it, or maybe am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel… not sure which, but I am grateful for whatever it is!
